Senior Software Engineer/Technical Architect | Bath UK | Permanent, Full Time | £65,000

About the Role:

  • You will be taking on ownership of an existing, in-house developed core codebase and its strategic management
  • You will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the people, resources and processes required for refactoring and building out the existing +1M line codebase
  • You will recruit, build, train and oversee a software engineering team responsible for developing our next generation of meta-data and image normalisation products and services
  • Management of full software development, testing and delivery life cycle
  • You will interact closely with the CTO to deliver on the vision of the company, communicating the steps needed to do so clearly, effectively and professionally to the development team

About You:

  • 10+ years professional programming experience
  • 3+ years professional engineering management, with strong team work and collaborative skills
  • Extensive C/C++ coding knowledge mandatory
  • Previous experience refactoring large code bases
  • Experience working within a self-funded SME where everyone needs to know how roll up their sleeves and get things done
  • Experience with medical imaging and image processing (preferred not essential)
