Overview

This is an exciting role for an experienced Copywriter to own the brand tone of voice for this innovative business.

You will be responsible for the conception and creation of innovative, headline-grabbing content which drives people to this brand and keeps them engaged when they're there, ultimately generating increases in customer responsiveness, generating uptake by potential customers and current customers.

You will be an experienced and exceptional writer, able to use data insight to identify target audiences, capture and retain the attention of target audiences, compelling them to read and engage with the brand. You will also provide and/or coordinate content across several other creative disciplines, including photography, video, infographic and reports/whitepapers.

The Copywriter;

Create, adapt and deliver content in a wide range of styles and for a wide range of identified channels, with evidenced positive responsiveness from consumers and reportable commercial impact.

Can produce tight, accurate copy to strict deadlines.

Establish a strategic plan for Copywriting activity, working with key stakeholders as required. Communicate and seek feedback from key internal stakeholders.

Establish and deliver a consistent content style and tone of voice which is unique, differentiates the brand from the competition and helps to maximise engagement opportunities and optimizes customer interest in our brand.

Create unique written content for PR, Communications, the website, app and other channels such as customer newsletters, offering a fresh take on news and events about the environment, sustainability, science, tech and nature.

Produce relevant and user-friendly content and copy across a wide range of content types including, but not limited to, website, blogs, sales materials, customer facing emails, whitepapers, thought-leadership pieces, reports, social, webinars, press releases and presentations, working in conjunction with the marketing and PR teams on key themes, products and targeting.

Work in partnership with our PR and Digital Marketing teams, to ensure there is a ready supply of written and video content for promotion on our owned and earned channels, and that it is relevant to the specific platform and audience, identified through market data and trends. Use data to inform most effective methods to reach the target audience.

Work in partnership with our PR and Digital Marketing teams, to generate ideas and scripts for standalone video content for publication on the website, app and social media channels.

Develop and implement a set of editorial standards i.e. tone of voice, content themes and behaviours. Engage with internal stakeholders to achieve implementation and understanding.

Write customer emails and newsletters, providing customers with relevant, engaging content designed to drive them to our website or app

Be the guarantor of factual and grammatical accuracy, having a keen eye for detail

Make sure content is created according to brand guidelines

Identify the topics and conversations through internal collaboration with stakeholders and market data insights to drive conversation, which will interest our differing B2B and B2C audiences.

Help to plan and maintain the content calendar

Keep up to date with competitor social and digital presence as well as relevant industry news and trends.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Proven successful experience as a Copywriter with evidenced optimization of customer interaction

Excellent interpersonal, written and communication skills

Experience working with a variety of stakeholders internally and externally to achieve output within agreed timelines

Experience working in a highly regulated environment

Meticulous attention to detail and fact-checking

Self-reliant: you need to be able to start and finish your own ideas

Experience of working across multiple channels

Socially savvy with an understanding of what makes good off-platform content

Excellent news judgement and understands what works for an environmentally conscious audience

Good knowledge of formats & content types that work in an online and off-line environment
